1830's PRIMITIVE Original Paint TOLEWARE Tin Box Handmade Hinges w Old Letter

Just so sweet!! An excellent find is offered today... for auction we have one very early, Circa 1830 handmade hand-painted toleware 10 box with handmade hinges accompanied by an old handwritten letter that's just wonderful. This tin box with the rounded lid measures just shy of 8 inches across, 4in deep and 5 in tall. Add another one and a quarter inches in height for the little metal round handle. The interior hinges are handmade ice is the exterior closure. The entire piece is just terrific and the red color especially still pops really nicely. Along with this great old box comes a very old tattered, yellowed letter! It looks like the letter alone is at least 70 years old or more, and it reads..... "
This box alone is probably worth something it is over 100 years old and at least possibly 150 years old. Letters in it are dated in 1830s that has been passed down trow your great-grandmother Smith

All over condition seems pretty darn nice to us. Of course there is some paint loss and overall general wear, but no major dents or anything you wouldn't come to expect from a box that's probably pushing two hundred years old and maybe more.
