Description
This one-of-a-kind early 20th Folk Art ship model measures 28 inches long by 6 inches wide and is 25 inches tall. It is mostly constructed of metal with wooden decks, lifeboats and masts. There is a photo embedded in the front of the captains deck showing the maker of this ship who was a former worker at the Philadelphia shipyard. It is in excellent as found condition with expected minor rust and paint loss. It dates from the early part of the 20th C. and was likely made sometime between 1920 and 1940. The pictures don't really do it justice and it more impressive when you are in it's presence. It is truly a Folk Art masterpiece. It weighs between 15 and 16 pounds. A sturdy custom wooden stand has been made for it. This listing is for pick up only although delivery may be available. I am not comfortable trying to pack this for shipping. I sometimes travel from my home as far north as Philadelphia but delivery would hinge on how far off my normal route your location would be. There would probably be some sort of delivery charge to cover my time and gas. Please contact me before you purchase this item to discuss possible arrangements.
