7 3/4 inch authentic Powder Horn with possible NY Artillery connection. Primitive, naive style decoration, Cannon with standing Officer in cocked hat with sword, other smaller groups of soldiers also in cocked hats, a group of 3 Native Americans (bow and hatchet), a 3 mast sailing ship, a civilian man and woman with sheaves of wheat and a tree and a script name that appears to be "G. K. Doulton". There is a lot going on here and to my eye, authentic and original. The wood plug is pinned with copper nails. The possible NY Militia connection is in the style of all the soldiers wear their cocked hats in the fore and aft manner, there is some documentation of NY Artillery being peculiar in this style.
