    WE JUST PURCHASED A VERY NICE MATCHED PAIR OF 18TH CENTURY CONNECTICUT SHORELINE WILLIAM AND MARY BANNISTER BACK SIDE CHAIRS.
    BOTH CHAIRS ARE IDENTICAL AND HAVE ALWAYS BEEN TOGETHER.
    BOTH ARE IN A FANTASTIC OLD WASHED DOWN COLOR AND PATINA WITH TRACES OF THE ORIGINAL RED WASH PAINT THROUGHOUT.
    THEY BOTH HAVE WELL FORMED YOKE TOP CRESTS WITH THREE REEDED BANNISTERS AND FULL HEIGHT TO THE FEET.
    WE WILL BE OFFERING THESE CHAIRS INDIVIDUALLY.
    WE WILL SUPPLY PHOTOS OF BOTH CHAIRS TOGETHER BUT THE CHAIRS WILL BE SOLD SEPARATELY.
    THIS AUCTION IS FOR THE CHAIR SEEN ON THE RIGHT SIDE, CHAIR #2.
    AN EXTREMELY FINE STRATFORD, CONNECTICUT AREA WILLIAM AND MARY BANNISTER BACK SIDE CHAIR with a fully developed and scrolled YOKE BACK CREST WITH THREE REEDED AND MOLDED BANNISTERS. IT HAS SIMPLE RING TUNED LEGS WITH FULL FOOT HEIGHT AND IT IS IN A WONDERFUL WASHED DOWN PATINA AND SURFACE WITH TRACES OF THE ORIGINAL RED WASH THROUGHOUT.
    This chair is from the STRATFORD, CT OF THE FAIRFIELD COUNTY REGION OF CONNECTICUT AND DATES CIRCA 1720-1750. Similar examples can be found in the collection of the Connecticut Historical Society.
    As for condition, there are no repairs or restorations, THIS EXAMPLE STILL RETAINS ITS ORIGINAL RUSH SEAT, (with very minor losses).
    It is still in good shape and can be used daily.
