    Description

On auction, we have an antique candle mold for making 48 candles. This is hand made of tin with applied handles on the sides. The holes for the candles are 7/8" wide at the tops and taper slightly at the bottoms. We can find no name for the maker. This measures 15" wide between the handles, 11 1/4" tall and the base is 10 3/4" X 8 1/8". Sturdy, this weighs 6 pounds 3.5 ounces.
This large candle mold is in very good antique condition. My experts believe it dates to the late 1800's. It was once made into a lamp (see last picture). There are small nail holes on each corner where it was attached to a heavy wooden base. It has all the expected rust, light dents and patina from time. Please view my photographs for more description.
My friend is moving into a much smaller home and parting with some of her treasures. Her mother purchased this in Indiana in the 1950's with an almost matching piece (see picture #11). I have that one on a separate auction at this time, they do make a great pair.
I will be happy to answer any questions, send more photos and, of course, combine your shipping when possible. I'll shop for your best shipping cost, it might be UPS.
