    Description
    A great early 19th century American Tin Whale Oil LAMP with a round saucer base and its original applied strap handle in great ORIGINAL AND UNTOUCHED SURFACE and still retaining its original double burner and filler cover.
    New England, Circa 1820-1840.
    Whale oil burned a more consistent and brighter light than a candle. Whale oil was also much less expensive.
    Wonderful original condition with ORIGINAL old surface and patina.
    A CLASSIC EARLY DESIGN FOR A TIN WHALE OIL LAMP
    6" tall, the base is 6" across.
    Typical wear and imperfections with age.
